I am experienced in treating a variety of mental health concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and challenges from major life transitions such as divorce, career changes, medical or health issues, grief and loss, and parenting concerns. I utilize a holistic approach that considers all aspects of social and emotional well-being by encouraging autonomy, building on current strengths, and building new skills that support goals. I work with teens and adults from a family systems approach to identify and shift maladaptive beliefs, build self-esteem and awareness, and strengthen relational bonds. I draw from evidenced-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EFT, motivational interviewing, and exposure therapy.
Prior to joining Alamo Counseling, I worked in community mental health, schools, and non-profit settings. I provided behavioral therapy to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays and partnered with the Santa Clara Juvenile Department to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative services to teens incarcerated for domestic and family violence.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am trained in Applied Behavior Analysis, Internal Family Systems and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
